Body
Using Blue or Mint yarn.
Round 1
6 sc in MR. (6 sts)
Round 2
Inc in each stitch around. (12 sts)
Round 3
(Sc, inc) x 6. (18 sts)
Round 4
(2 sc, inc) x 6. (24 sts)
Round 5
Sc around. (24 sts)
Optional Belly Color Change
For a contrasting belly, switch to White yarn and work Round 6 in BLO. This creates a neat transition line between the body and belly.
Round 6
Sc around. (24 sts)
Change back to the main body color at the end of the round if using the white belly.
Insert Safety Eyes
Place the 10 mm or 12 mm safety eyes between Rounds 4 and 5, spacing them 6 stitches apart.
Add a small amount of stuffing behind the eye area before securing the washers.
Round 7
Sc around. (24 sts)
Begin stuffing the whale firmly.
Round 8
(2 sc, dec) x 6. (18 sts)
